SSC CHSL 2020 Tier 1 Exam latest news, exam pattern, result and previous years and expected cut Off

SSC CHSL is conducted for recruiting postal assistants, sorting assistants, data entry operators, lower divisional clerks and employees for several departments and ministries of the government of India. The exam is based on 10+2 level education and consists of three tiers. The overall difficulty level of the exam is easy to moderate. Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, few exams had to be canceled. SSC have declared the exam dates for the leftover candidates and these will be conducted from Octover 12-16, 19-21, and 26, 2020.

CHSL Tier-1 2019 exam dates for leftover candidates have been announced. Exams will be conducted from October 12-16, 2020, October 19-21, 2020 and October 26, 2020.

SSC CHSL 2018 Data Entry Skill Test (DEST)/Typing Test (TT) for eastern region candidates was scheduled for April 4-9. It has been postponed until further notice for COVID-19

The final SSC CHSL Result that was subject to the final order in WP No. 234/2018 of the Supreme Court is now free of that condition.

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the recruitment exam, candidates must make sure that they fulfill SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria as only eligible candidates will be allowed to appear for the exam. The basic minimum eligibility criteria that candidates need to meet in order to appear for SSC CHSL is that a candidate must be aged between 18 and 27 years as on January 1, 2020 and should have passed class 12.

The detailed eligibility criteria is as follows:

  1. Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian Citizen or should belong to Nepal/ Bhutan or Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 to permanently settle in India.
  2.  Educational Criteria: must have cleared or appearing class 12 or its equivalent from a recognized educational board or University.
  3. Age must be between 18 – 27 years as on January 1, 2020, however, certain reserved category candidates can claim for reservation according to the Indian government norms.

Tier 3 exam will be a skill-based test where typing and data entry speed is analyzed of the prospective candidates:

Typing Test: For English, typing speed of 35 words per minute is required, For Hindi, typing speed of 30 words per minute is mandatory. Typing Test will be applicable for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, LDC, and Court Clerk posts.

Skill Test: Data Entry Speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour on the computer. The skill test is conducted for the Data Entry Operator post.
