In this article, I will be sharing full information about the best competitive exams you can prepare, how to prepare and where you can apply.

 

  1. UPSC Civil Services Examination

The Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil Service Examination in order to provide jobs as Civil servants. Civil servants are bureaucrats who significantly influence the decision making of the government. The power and status associated with this field are immense. In the list of competitive exams after graduation, for jobs, this stands at the top.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Nationality:
  • For the Indian Administrative Service, the Indian Foreign Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • For other services, a candidate must be either:—

(a) a citizen of India, or

(b) a subject of Nepal, or

(c) a subject of Bhutan, or

(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of

permanently settling in India, or

(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

2.Educational Qualification: Candidate applying for civil service exams is required to fulfill the following criteria:

  • He/she must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from any of the recognized universities
  • Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination and are awaiting results or those who are yet to appear for the qualifying examination are also eligible for the Preliminary Examination.
  • Candidates with professional and technical qualifications recognized by the Government or its equivalent are also eligible to apply.

3.Age Limit: The age of a candidate should be a minimum of 21 years and a maximum of 32 years (upper limit relaxation for certain categories).

4.Number of attempts: The Authority has put restrictions on the maximum number of attempts by a candidate which is generally 6 (some categories have relaxations).

Job Profile: They head secretariats as well as district administrations throughout the country.

Areas of work: Wide variety of duties and responsibilities ranging from maintenance of law and order, the collection of taxes, to developmental work within State and Central areas of jurisdiction, implementation of social welfare activities, etc.

  1. SSC CGL Examination

The Staff Selection Commission’s Combined Graduate Level is the exam to look out for if you are looking for the senior government of India jobs.

Job Profile: General administration for different Central Civil posts including ministries.

  1. Inspector (Examiner) CBEC
  2. Assistant Enforcement Officer
  3. Income Tax Inspector
  4. Assistant Section Officer (CSS)

Eligibility Criteria:

1.Nationality: The National Eligibility Criteria is the same as the UPSC Civil Service Examination as mention above.

2.Age Limit: The eligible age to appear in the exam is 18 years. Whereas the maximum age to appear in the exam is 32 years in general which varies from category to category.

3.Educational Qualification: The educational qualification for various posts are explained below:

Assistant Audit Officer: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.

Assistant Audit Officer: Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.

Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard level OR Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

Compiler: Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as a compulsory or Elective subject.

All other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

For posts of Assistant Section Officer (CSS), Computer Proficiency Test has also been prescribed as an Essential Qualification.

 

  1. UGC NET for Assistant Professor

The Pay-Scale of the UGC NET Assistant Professor Salary (NET/JRF Holder) depends upon the job you pursue. I have mentioned below the different kinds of job profiles.

UGC NET JRF Eligibility Criteria – Education Qualification (55% in Master’s Degree exam)

The UGC NET Eligibility Criteria grants you a minimum of 55% marks or grade is required in your Master’s Degree from universities/institutions recognized by UGC.  However, according to the UGC NET Eligibility Criteria,  an aggregate of 50% marks or grade is required for the candidates belonging to  Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Other Backward Classes (OBC) / Persons With Disability (PWD)/ Transgender category.

Now other than the students who have already appeared and been ranked for their master’s exams, if you belong in any of these categories even you’ll be allowed to give the UGC NET JRF Paper: 

If you’re pursuing a master’s degree or equivalent course.

If you have already appeared for your qualifying master’s degree (final year) examination.

In case your qualifying examinations have been delayed (you fall in the lucky category, don’t you?).

UGC NET JRF Job Profile: Salary Expectations

The UGC NET Qualified Salary depends upon the organization you work for.

A NET/JRF Holder who wants to pursue professorship in Private Universities would be rewarded with Rs.30000 – Rs.70000 Per Month. So, that means UGC Norms for Assistant Professor Salary in Private Universities is that they provide Assistant Professor Salary ranging from Rs.30000-Rs.70000.

A NET/JRF Holder who wants to pursue Professorship in Government Universities would be rewarded with Rs.55000 – Rs.105000 Per Month. So, that means UGC Norms for Assistant Professor Salary in Government Universities is that they provide UGC NET Assistant Professor Salary from Rs.55000 – Rs.1050000.

The UGC NET Qualified Salary Provided by Public sectors also depends upon the organization but the basic pay can vary from Rs.60000 – Rs.180000.

 

  1. PSU Salary Structure For Graduate Engineers, Executive Trainees, Officers, Assistant Officer

PSUs offer different position to engineers with different salary structure. Being government owned organization working in PSUs has benefits like Dearness Allowance, CPF, Gratuity, Social Security Schemes, Pension, Medical benefits etc. PSUs apart from providing a secure job environment and much scope to grow also provide handsome salary, posts like a management trainee or an engineering graduate can easily draw up to five to twelve lakhs as an initial salary package in PSUs.

Scale of Basic Salary:Rs. 60,900 – 1,80,000

Above CTC includes Base Pay, Retiral Benefits, Dearness Allowance, HRA, and Cafeteria Allowance. This also includes Performance Related Pay (PRP) as per the policy. CTC is for candidates posted in metro cities and may vary for other locations.

2.Educational Qualification:

Generally, an applicant should have secured at least 60% (50% for certain categories) marks as well in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent), Engineering and MBA.

3.Age Limit:

  • Applicants should be in the age group of 21-30 years.
  • Candidates possessing experience as an officer in any of the in public sector (including RBI), the upper age limit is relaxed to the extent of the number of completed years of such experience subject to a max. of three years.

The probationary officer (PO) is considered a lucrative white-collar job in India. Conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), every year, lakhs of aspirants apply for PO examination and only thousands succeed.

Eligibility Criteria:

1.Nationality: The National Eligibility Criteria is the same as the UPSC Civil Service Examination as mention above.

2.Educational Qualification: The educational qualification required for IBPS PO Exam is the same as the SBI PO exam that I have already mentioned above.

3.Age Limit: In general, the minimum age limit for a candidate is 20 years and the maximum limit is 30 years with certain relaxation for certain categories.

Number of Attempts: In IBPS PO Exam there is no restriction on the maximum number of attempts. A candidate can appear in the Exam until he/she reaches the upper age limit

Position: A bank probationary officer post is the entry-level position for management cadre

Job Profile: General banking and bank administration, supervision of the clerical works and work towards increasing bank’s business.

Growth Prospects: It has very high growth prospects. You are required to have a strong determination and good preparation to clear the exam and the following interview rounds successfully.

  1. IBPS Specialist Officer Examination 2020

Apart from recruiting POs, IBPS recruits Specialist Officers too and we kept it at number five on this article, “job exams after graduation”. Competitive exams like these are super to start your career with.

Eligibility Criteria:

1.Nationality: The National Eligibility Criteria is the same as the UPSC Civil Service Examination as mention above.

2.Age Limit: In general, the minimum age limit for a candidate is 20 years and the maximum limit is 30 years with certain relaxation for certain categories.

  1. Educational Qualification: Candidates willing to apply for the above-mentioned posts must have a graduate degree or post-graduate degree in the relevant field. The specialist officer educational qualification according to their positions is given below:

Number of Attempts: In IBPS SO Exam there is no restriction on the maximum number of attempts. A candidate can appear in the Exam until he/she reaches the upper age limit.

Qualification for IBPS SO IT Officer:

The aspirants must have completed graduation or post-graduation in the IT-related fields. For the IT officer candidate should have a qualification in any one of the following fields: 4-year Engineering Degree in

Qualification for IBPS SO Law Officer.

The candidates must have a 4-year graduate degree in agriculture or a related field to be eligible for the Agriculture Field Officer post. Candidates who opted for any agriculture-related field in graduation can apply for Agriculture field officer.

 Qualification for IBPS SO Marketing Officer

The candidates are eligible to apply for this post who have a graduate degree and one of the following streams of management:

  • For Junior Associates: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government

 

  • For Junior Agricultural Associates: Graduation in Agriculture or Agriculture allied activities from a Government recognized university/Institute

 

 

  • Knowledge of official and local language: Candidates have to produce class 10th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing having studied official (local) language will not be subjected to any Language test. In case of others, the language test will be conducted before final selection. Candidates not found to be proficient in official and local language would be disqualified

 

  • Candidates should be able to write and speak English.

 

 

  • Candidates who are in the final Semester/ year of Graduation may also apply for SBI Clerk. But they will have to produce proof of having passed the Graduation Examination at the time of document verification for joining

 

  • Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD as per the prescribed dates
  • Candidates should be able to write and speak English

Note:

  • The date of passing eligibility examination will be the date appearing on the mark-sheet or provisional certificate issued by the University / Institute.

  • Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)

 

OR

 

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

2.Eligibility for TET Paper – II:

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

 

OR

 

  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
